Well the arrangements have been made

We were talking about the plans yesterday and I had to just say it was out of my hands.

But dad must have been just present enough (if not in spirit, then in the front of my mom's mind and in the lawyer's mind)

They decided not to bury him in a stupid plot in an irrelevant cemetery. They decided to "follow his will as best they could we can"

I could not convince mom to let him have an open air burial, in the garden. She said because she was afraid of the legal ramifications. But I think it's because she's selfish. We should be doing what dad wanted- to the letter- who gives a damn about the law.

The lawyer got the private property burial permit approved, so dad will be buried here. Not directly in the garden.... But he will be here, and that's the first thing.

The lawyer said we'd have a digger come in with a machine, but that feels a little unceremonious. Actually disrespectful. I'm gonna spend the day digging instead. I'm not going to invite Joe to help because he is a piece of garbage and he would say no anyway.

And tonight we will do the burial as a family.

Loving this Alternate Reality Game/Story, or whatever it is. It's great so far and I'm truly hoping to read more from you.

I had an idea for a working title:
    "The Garden"

    1. "You have a an idea for a working title" for my life? I don't even know how to respond to that and I think I feel insulted.

I didn't mean for the character to respond to this. Sorry if that was less than clear.

  2. [Meta] You should have killed off your dad once you got more of a following. You could have stretched out his character a bit longer, perhaps having some interviews with him on this blog. You killed him too soon in the story and now it'll be hard for your audience to connect with the character. The fake animal murder was a good touch though. Keep that up

I think it fits really well, it's setting up for the rest. The father is buried in the garden, the one place of solace for his unstable son. The garden where his son learned to kill...the place where he will make his final kill to honor his father. Seriously bonechilling. I love it. This is all theory though, we can only guess what the writer has in store for Alex.
