Environmentalism- sketches- horror art

WARNING: this post contains a poorly drawn female nipple, and a poorly drawn hose sticking out of a poorly drawn pair of pants (at a glance it might look like male nudity but it isn't) YOU'VE BEEN WARNED

Working in the garden with dad has made me really appreciate the importance of clean air, healthy soil, and safe water!

I asked dad about organic gardening. We don't use any pesticides, and the "fertilizer" we use is all natural compost (Made out of foxes, lol... In case you missed that)

But he explained that there's really no such thing as organic now- on the most basic level- because there are all manner of pollutants everywhere around us.

Acid in the rain...

Particulates in the air...

Contaminants in the soil...

Chemicals in the ground water...

He went on to rant about how we (humans, not us specifically) are chopping down rainforests and overfishing the oceans and tipping the scales of Earth's natural ecological balance.... And it's all for a few dollars.

I was thinking about that stuff throughout the day, and sketched out a couple random environmentalism cartoons on scrap papers. Take a look:

a picture of a pinup zombie mermaid riding a fishing hook, decaying and skeletal
"Overfishing"

A tree with all its limbs cut off and a sad look on its face
"Deforestation"

a sketch of trousers, with a hose sticking through the zipper, gushing out noxious fluid which has puddled around the legs of the trousers. Above the waistline is a factory scene with many buildings and towers.
"Water Pollution from the Corporate Hose"

two skeletal, monstrous faces- one exhaling a noxious gas, the other emitting waves of radiation energy- its forehead is stamped with the universal symbol for radiation
"Twin Terrors- Air Pollution and Radiation"

a big old turd sitting in some dirt- nearby flowers and plants are wilting. The turd can be seen to contain lots of dollar signs.
"Soil Contamination"

Of course, I've heard all this stuff before in Earth Science... But my teacher was a bitch, so it didn't sink in. Hearing my dad talk about it, it kinda clicked a little bit better- and he's right.

Humans are the real garbage that litters the planet. (My words, not his)

I hope this whole post didn't come off as preachy. This is just stuff That's been on my mind. You know I love gardening with my dad- and if you spend time nurturing plants you start to appreciate environmentalism a little bit more. I'm not telling you that you need to be "green." I'm just saying I want to be.

If you liked any of this, I've got more art here!
